Precision Handling.
The Security of StabiliTrak®. For 2006, Envoy features StabiliTrak, an engineering advance that helps it respond more
accurately and predictably to your steering commands. Sensors read the position of your steering wheel, vehicle speed,
brake pressure, lateral acceleration and turning rate, then feed the data into an onboard computer. If your Envoy is
not responding adequately to your steering input, the computer adjusts engine torque and brake pressure to the
appropriate wheel to help you keep on track. The StabiliTrak system also utilizes Proactive Roll Avoidance
technology, helping you maintain steering control even on slippery surfaces.

so the driver and the front passenger can select their own individual settings
up to 25 degrees apart. Second-row passengers have access to two
air-conditioning outlets with four-way directional adjustments mounted high on
the rear of the center console. With the Envoy XL, third-row passengers enjoy
the benefits of independent heating and air conditioning outlets. You

Navigation Radio, an AM/FM stereo with in-dash six-CD changer, each of which
may be complemented by an available Bose® premium speaker system. And with any
of these audio systems you may add XM Satellite Radio®.
Impressive Trailering Capabilities are just the Beginning. With a pair of technically advanced Vortec Engines to choose from,
you can count on your Envoy for outstanding performance. The Vortec 4200 Inline Six provides 275 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. That means
it has horsepower unsurpassed by any of the competition's V6's---with comparable fuel efficiency. The Gen IV Vortec 5300 V6 offers a hefty 300 horsepower
and 330 lb-ft of torque.
Displacement on Demand.
Here's an advance in technology that you're going to appreciate every time you stop at the gas pump. The Gen IV Vortec 5300 V8-standard on Envoy Denali
and Envoy XL Denali-uses a design called Displacement on Demand (DOD). In some driving conditions, DOD deactivates four of the V8's cylinders-essentially
turning the V8 into a V4. When you need V8 power, it's there at your command. The engine always starts and idles on eight cylinders, and runs on
eight during brisk acceleration or when carrying or trailering loads. What's more, it switches between V4 and V8 when needed, and operates so smoothly
that you'll never notice the transition. The big benefit of running on four cylinders, of course, is increased fuel economy2-which is a big benefit indeed.
*Based on EPA estimated MPG of 16/22 for Envoy Denali 2WD; 15/21 for Envoy Denali 4WD; 16/20 for Envoy XL Denali 2WD; 15/20 for Envoy XL Denali 4WD.
