2006 Canyon
The 2006 Lineup...
Comfort and Convenience.
The GMC Canyon offers standard 4 doors on all Crew cabs and extended Cabs. And
with the optional Power Convenience Package the Canyon comes loaded with power
windows, locks and mirrors; remote keyless entry and inside review mirror with
map lights, compass and temperature. The Canyon also has the XM Radio option.
With abundant head and legroom, the Canyon provides driver and passengers with a roomy and
comfortable interior. In fact, with an available front bench seat, it has room for up to six.
What’s more, special care has been taken to allow extra distance from the driver to the
instrument panel, enhancing the feeling of spaciousness. The engineering highlights don’t
end there. Triple door seals help ensure a quiet ride. A composite material called Ethylene
Vinyl Acetate is used in the dash for noise reduction. And multiple power outlets let you
operate a variety of twelve-volt devices such as audio equipment or a laptop computer.
Rear split-bench seat.
Crew Cab models have a rear split-bench seat that comfortably accommodates three people, with three-point safety belts for
all rear passengers. When you need more interior storage room, simply flip down the split-bench seat.

Dual-position locking tailgate.
Canyon has an exclusive dual-position locking tailgate that can be secured in two positions*. Lower it all the way for caring extra long cargo,
or partway to accommodate long cargo**.
|
Two-tier loading & bed anchors
Canyon is designed to accept a plywood divider creating two tiers of loading space. Bed anchors allow use of tie-down straps to securely carry cargo***.
Six anchors are featured on Regular and Extended Cab models, eight on Crew Cab.
*Exclusive to GM vehicles. **Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution.

Power to Spare.
Serious power for serious fun. With an extraordinary combination of V6 power and remarkable fuel efficiency, the available Vortec 3500 I-5 is
a perfect example of professional grade engineering. Every Canyon model with the Vortec 3500 I-5 and an automatic transmission is capable of
trailering up to 4,000 lbs*. A major advantage of both the Vortec 2800 and 3500's inline design is its smooth, quiet operation, reinforced
by a dual balance shaft system.
*Maximum trailer weight ratings are calculated assuming a base vehicle, except for any options necessary to achieve
the rating, plus driver. The weight of other optional equipment, passengers and cargo will reduce the maximum trailer weight your vehicle can tow.

Precision Handling.
Pick a road, any road. The Canyon has what it takes to absorb the bumps, handle the curves and supply superb traction-and do it all loaded
or unloaded. A variety of professional grade designs contribute to its impressive handling capabilities. Depending on the model and suspension
package you choose, either front independent coil springs or front independent torsion bars, complemented by a rear semifloating axle with
two-stage multileaf springs, contribute to Canyon's heavy duty capabilities. And every model features rack-and-pinion steering for precise
steering response.
