GMC TopKick

History isn't made. It's Engineered.
Carrying your company into the future.
You never know what obstacles you’ll find on the road. That’s why we equipped
the breakthrough GMC TopKick with larger, retractable mirrors for added
maneuverability in tight urban areas. With one of the best turning diameters
within class 4, the GMC TopKick turns even tighter than many passenger cars and
pickups. Add to that a larger windshield and a sloped hood that offers a field
of forward vision just 13 feet from the front bumper. That’s twice as close as
the Ford F-450.
We designed the GMC TopKick as a true medium duty truck, capable of handling the
demands of your commercial business. So our engineers set out to provide you
with more - and better - choices than ever before, such as a wide range of
premier powertrain components, our engineers enhanced the TopKick’s efficiency
by allowing you to spec a smarter, more productive truck. The TopKick provides
an impressive range of engine choices, including the DURAMX 6600, DURAMAX 7800,
Caterpillar C7 diesel engines, or the vortec 8100MD V8 gas engine. The Vortec
8100MD is the only gas engine available in class 6, 7, and 8 medium duty
conventional trucks with a GVWR range of 19,501-37,600 lbs. With the GMC
TopKick, power and maneuverability are on the job..

Visibility. A driver can't avoid what can't be seen. For an added
measure of safety, we designed a larger windshield and sloped hood that can
provide a field of vision as little as 13 ft (ex: C4500/C5500 models) from the
front bumper. Twice as close as our nearest competitor.

Engines. All engines feature Dex-Cool® coolant that doesn't
need changing for up to 5 years/150,000 miles (whichever comes first; consult
owners manual). You can even choose an optional automatic shutdown mechanism to
prevent damage in the event of coolant loss, high coolant temperature, or low
oil pressure. All key fluid checks are readily accesible on the driver's side.
State-of-the-art, no-freon loss connections to air conditioning lines have been
added too. The C4500/C5500 models have a pull-out battery tray under the cab to
keep up to three batteries readily accessible.

Interior. We've reduced noise, vibration and harshness. The driver
will also appreciate the smaller 16" steering wheel and an instrument layout
with more of a light duty feel. The newly designed steering system is
specifically engineered and tuned to the TopKick. We've also added safety
features such as the first available driver's-side and passenger-side airbags
in medium duty trucks Class 6 and higher. Other options include tilt wheel,
many seating combinations, power door locks and windows, and a CD player. This
is a smarter and more efficient truck for your business.
Seating. A two-person seat with the fold-down backrest/workstation area, air-suspention
bucket seats, and cigarette light/ashtray are optional. Bucket seats, center console with cupholder, and
power source are standard.
Wheels and Tires. Accuride steel disc wheels are standard in gray and available painted white.
For an even more professional look, optional polished aluminum disc wheels are available. Goodyear tires are standard.
